Documents

Marriage, birth, and death certificates, certified copies of civil status records, and birth certificates are issued from civil status records.

Apart from specified authorities, only the persons to whom the entry relates and their spouses, ancestors or descendants, as well as other persons, may request the issuance of documents if they credibly demonstrate a legal interest. If third parties are commissioned to collect the documents, they must present a power of attorney. This must contain the first and last name of the person collecting the documents, as well as your personal details and signature.

A written request for documents can be made by providing the appropriate personal information (e.g., for birth certificates: Last name, first name, date and place of birth) and the purpose of use. It is essential to attach a copy of the identity card or passport to this request. Requests sent by email cannot be processed due to the lack of an electronic signature. In the case of written requests, a corresponding cost notice will be issued first. The requested information or certificate will be sent after receipt of payment by the City of Pirna.

For certain matters, civil status certificates are issued free of charge. Fees are exempted if this is regulated by law (e.g. for the purposes of statutory pension insurance – Section 64 (2) SGB X [Social Security Code]). Proof from the pension provider must be submitted.
